[ 총회신조채택안 ]

본 아메리카 장로회 개혁 총회에서 아래 기록한 12가지 신조를 총회산하 모든 교회로 하여금 승인할 신조로 삼았으며 이는 총회를 설립한교회의 교리적 표준을 삼은 것이며, 특별히 「웨스트민스터」 도게요서(信徒揭要書)와, 성경 대· 소요리 문답은 성경을 밝히 해석한 책으로 인정한 것인즉 우리 총회와 신학교에서 마땅히 가르칠 것으로 알며 그 중에 성경 소요리 문답을 우리 총회 산하 교회 문답 책으로 채용하는 것이다.

1. 신.구약 성경은 하나님의 말씀이니 신앙과 본분(本分)에 대하여 정확무오(正確無誤)한 유일(唯一)의 법칙이다.
2. 하나님은 유일하시니 오직 그만 경배할 것이다. 하나님은 영(The Spirit)이시니 스스로 계시고 아니 계신 곳이 없으시며 다른 신과 모든 물질과 구별되시며, 그 존재(存在)와 지혜와 권능과 거룩하심과 공의와 인자하심과 진실하심과 사랑하심에 있어서 무한하시며 영원하시며 변하지 아니하신다.
3. 하나님의 본체(本體)에 삼위(位)가 계시니 성부, 성자, 성령이신데 이 삼 위는 하나이신 하나님이시라. 본체는 하나요, 권능과 영광이 동등(同等)하시다.
4. 하나님께서 모든 유형물(有形物)과 무형물(無形物)을 그 권능의 말씀으로 창조하사 보존하시고 주장하시나 결코 죄를 짓게 하신 이가 아니시니 모든 것을 자기 뜻의 계획대로 행하시며 하나님의 선하시고 지혜롭고 거룩하신 목적을 성취하도록 만유(萬有)를 주관 하신다.
5. 하나님이 사람을 남녀로 지으시되 자기의 형상대로 지식과 의와 거룩함으로 지으사 생물(生物)을 주관하게 하셨으니, 세상 모든 사람이 한 근원에서 나왔은즉 다 한 가족이요 형제다.
6. 우리의 시조(始祖) 아담에게 선악간에 택할 자유의지(自由)가 있었는데 시험을 받아 하나님께 범죄한지라 아담으로부터 통상적인 생육법(生育法)에 의하여 출생하는 모든 사람들이 태어날 때부터 가지고 태어나는 죄가 있으니 이를 원죄라 하고 사람에게는 원죄(原罪)와 및 부패한 성품 외에 범죄 할 능(能)이 있어서 죄를 짓게 되어 모든 사람이 금세와 내세에 하나님의 공평한 진노와 형벌을 받는 것이 마땅하다.
7. 하나님께서는 인류의 죄와 부패로 말미암은 형벌에서 구원하시고 영생을 주시고자 하사 하나님의 무한하신 사랑으로 그의 영원하신 독생자 주 예수 그리스도를 세상에 보내셨으니, 그로만 하나님께서 육신을 이루었고, 또 그로만 사람이 구원을 얻을 수 있다. 그 영원한 아들이 참사람이 되사 그 후로 한 위에 특수한 두 성품이 있어 영원토록 참 하나님이시요, 참 사람이시라. 그는 성령의 권능으로 잉태하사 동정녀(童貞女) 마리아에게서 났으되 오직 죄는 없는 분이시다, 죄인을 대신하여 하나님의 법에 완전히 복종하시고 몸을 드려 참되고 온전한 제물이 되사 하나님의 공의를 만족하게 하시어 사람으로 하여금 하나님과 화목하게 하시려고 십자가(十字架)에 못 박혀 죽으시고 죽은 자 가운데서 3일 만에 부활하사 하늘에 오르사 하나님 우편에 앉아계시고, 자기 백성을 위하여 기도하시다가 거기로부터 죽은 자를 살리시고 세상을 심판하려 재림하신다.
8. 성부와 성자로부터 오시는 성령께서 인생으로 구원에 참여하게 하시나니 그는 인생으로 죄와 비참을 깨닫게 하시며 그 마음을 밝혀 그리스도를 알게 하시고 권하여 복음으로 값없이 주시는 예수 그리스도를 영접 할 수 있게 하시며, 또 인생 안에서 역사하여 모든 의의 열매를 맺게 하신다.
9. 하나님께서 세상을 창조하시기 전에 그리스도 안에서 자기 백성을 택하사 사랑하므로 그 앞에서 거룩하고 흠이 없게 하시고 그 기쁘신 뜻대로 저희를 미리 작정하사 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 자기의 아들을 삼으셨으니 이는 그 사랑하시는 아들 안에서 저희에게 풍성하게 주시는 은혜의 영광을 찬미하게 하려는 것이다. 하나님은 세상 모든 사람에게 온전한 구원을 값없이 주시려고 다음과 같이 명하셨다. 첫째로, 저희 죄를 회개하고 주 예수 그리스도를 자기의 구주로 믿고 의지하여 본 받으며, 둘째로, 하나님의 나타내신 뜻을 복종하여 겸손하고 거룩하게 행하라 하셨으니 그리스도를 믿고 복종하는 자는 구원을 얻는다. 저희가 받는바 특별한 유익은 의롭다 하심과 양자(養子)가 되어 하나님의 아들의 수(數)에 참여하게 하심과 성령의 감화로 거룩하게 하심과 영화이니, 믿는 자는 이 세상에서도 구원 얻은 줄을 확실히 알 수 있고 기뻐하게 된다. 성령께서 은혜의 직분을 행하실 때에 은혜 베푸시는 방도는 특별히 성경말씀과 성례와 기도다.
10. 그리스도께서 세우신 성례(聖禮)는 세례와 성찬이다. 세례는 물을 가지고 성부와 성자와 성령의 이름으로 씻음이니 우리가 그리스도와 연합하는 표증과 인(印)침인데 성령으로 거듭남과 새롭게 하심과 주께 속한 바 됨을 약속하는 것이다. 이 세례는 그리스도 안에서 신앙을 고백하는 자와 그들의 자녀들에게 배푸시는 것이요, 주의 성찬은 그리스도의 죽으심을 기념하여 떡과 잔에 참여하는 것이니 이는 믿는 자가 그 죽으심으로 말미암아 나타나는 유익을 받는 것을 인 쳐 증거하는 표다. 이 성례(禮)는 주께서 오실 때까지 주의 백성이 행할지니 주를 믿고 그 속죄제를 의지함과 거기서 나타나는 유익을 받음과 더욱 주를 섬기기로 언약(言約)함과 주와 및 여러 교우로 더불어 교통하는 표다. 성례의 유익은 성례의 본덕(本德)으로 말미암음도 아니요, 성례를 베푸는 자의 덕으로 말미암음도 아니요, 다만 그리스도의 복 주심과 믿음으로써 성례를 받는 자 가운데 계신 성령의 행하심으로 말미암음이다.
11. 모든 신자의 본분은 입교(入敎)하여 서로 교제하며, 그리스도의 성례와 그 밖의 법례(法例)를 지키며, 주의 법을 복종하며, 항상 기도하며, 주일을 거룩하게 지키며, 주를 경배하기 위하여 함께 모여 주의 말씀으로 설교함을 자세히 들으며, 하나님께서 저희로 하여금 풍성하게 하심을 따라 헌금하며, 그리스도의 마음과 동일한 생각과 뜻을 서로 표현하며, 그리스도의 나라가 온 세상에 전파되기 위하여 힘쓰며, 주께서 영광 가운데서 나타나심을 바라고 기다릴 것이다.
12. 죽은 자가 세상 끝 날에 부활함을 받고 그리스도의 심판하시는 보좌 앞에서 이 세상에서 선 악간 행한 바를 따라 보응(報應)을 받을 것이다. 이때 그리스도를 믿고 복종한 자는 확실히 사(赦) 함을 얻고 영광 중에 영접을 받게 되지만, 믿지 아니하고 악을 행한 자는 정죄함을 입어 그 죄에 해당한 형벌을 받는다.

교회의 신조는 하나님의 말씀에 기초하고 하나님의 말씀과 일치한 것으로 내가 믿으며 이를 또한 나의 개인의 신조로 공포하노라

The Reformed Presbyterian General Assembly of Americans has approved the recognized the creed as the dogmatic standard that our RPGAA has established on and which has been inherited from *Westminster larger and Shorter Catechism that has been recognized the interpreted book on the Bible and which should be taught at our denomination and the seminary and every church.
[*The Westminster Catechism was written in the 1640s by English and Scottish divines.]

1. The Bible, the Old testament and the New testament the Word of God and the only, infallible rule of faith and practice.
2. God is the only, true and must be worshiped. God is the Spirit, self-existing and is existing everywhere, and is distinguished from no all others gods and all matters, and His Being inclusive wisdom ,power, holiness, justice, mercifulness and love are infinite, forever and unchangeable.
3. God is the only in the unity of the Godhead being three Persons- the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, being equal in the authority and the glory.
4. God has created the visible and the invisible by His Word of power and God takes control of all of things and has conserved them and have moved them. He has never caused them to sin and all things have been done and achieved and taken fully controlled by His purpose being good and wise and holy.
5. God made man and woman in His image with his rightness and holiness in order that they might take control of all things , All human beings originating from the only source and all is one family and brethren.
6. The first man, Adam, had a free will and was tested and had sinned from which all men are born by the common native birth law carried the original sin since when we are born to sin having the perverted natures and power and injustice by which all men have just deserved to be condemned and cursed by the God in the present and the next world.
7. God had sent His only eternal begotten Son that God had only made Him with flesh, through whom we might be redeemed and have eternal life from sins and destructions that we have been brought about. His eternal Son became flesh therefore He has two natures that are true human and divine ones. He was born in the womb of the virgin Mary but He was sinless. He had totally committed Himself for us being obedience to the laws of God and had completely sacrificed Himself and had died on the cross in order that He could reconciliate with God for us and had been raised from the dead at third day and had been taken up to Heaven and had seated at the right hand side of God from the place there having prayed for His people and having made the dead alive and will have come again to make the judgement.
8. The Holy Spirit who came from the Father and the Son has joined people into the salvation and who make people realize that they are sinners being in destruction and to enlighten us that the Son is Christ and to invite us to receive Jesus Christ in their mind and the gospel that is given to us at no price.
9. 9 God has elected His people before He created a world and He loved them to be holy and faultless before Him. God has predestined them according to His pleasing will and adopted them His own children in order that He has made them within His loving Son, praising the glory of graces given abundantly. God would give these orders to all peoples of the world, Firstly, repent our own sins and believe the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and rely on Him and follow examples of Him. Secondly, be obedient to God’s wills that have been revealed so that we should be humble and holy and behave like Him. Whoever believes in Christ and obeys God’s Word will be saved. The special advantages are to make us holy and to become his adopted children and to join into the finite number of God’s children and to be sanctified by working of the Holy Spirit to be holy and to be glorified and to be aware of receiving salvation, by which we may enjoy being His children. In time of working of the Holy Spirit, As The Holy Spirit is working with the grace of working, it is the Biblical Word and sacrament and prayer through which He would give us the graces.
10. The Holy Sacraments that Christ has established are the baptism and Lord’s Supper. Baptism is washing with Water and by the names- the Holy Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and which symbolizes and is the seal that we have joined with Christ and that we are Spiritually born again being made anew and which is the promise that we are belong to Lord. The Baptism is administrated to those who confess the faith in Christ and to those who are His children. The baptism are allowed to these who have confessed with the faith in Christ and who have become His children. Lord’s Supper is to participate with bread and drink in remembrance of the death of Christ and to share, which are tokens of witnessing what we are given advantages by the death of Him. The sacraments will be continually administrated until our Lord coming back into the world by His people who are believing Lord and who are relying on the offering sacrifice and who are taking what advantage given by performing this, and who are promising to serve Lord so much, and which indicates the token that we communicate with Lord and all believers. The advantages of the sacrament performances are coming not by the performance itself and not by the virtue of the performer but by the working of the Holy Spirit.
11. Every believer is to attend a local church having fellowship to each other, to keep the Holy Communion, to keep the laws, to be obedient to Lord’s word, to pray always, to keep Lord’s Day Worship, to gather together to worship God, to listen to sermon of the Lord’s word, to give offering to God according to the abundance of each individual, to express to each other with the mind of thought and the will of Christ, to make efforts for the proclaiming the Kingdom of Christ and to be wishing and waiting for the Lord’s coming again in His glory.
12. Those who have died will have been raised and appeared and judged in front of the throng of Christ who will have judged. Those who have believed Christ and obeyed Him will have been forgiven their sins and will have been welcome in the glory. Those who have not believed and have done evil things will have been condemned and have been put punished according to what they have done.

This creed of the church is based on the word of God and that is identical to the God’s Word. I do believe and proclaim it as my confession.
